Out of the dark … and then right back in
If you’re a Spokane sports fan and you aren’t at The Arena watching the State B Basketball Tournament, then there’s a good chance that you’re in San Diego this weekend watching the Zags play.
That’s where I am. But unlike your standard sports fan, I use trips like this merely as an excuse to see out-of-town movies. Oh, I plan on seeing the Zags, but that’s hardly all.
Over the next few days, I hope to see “Morvern Callar” (an independent film with Samantha Morton), the controversial French film “Irreversible” by Gaspar Noe (the sourge of Cannes because of a 10-minute rape scene), the South African film “Amandla” and “Laurel Canyon.”
How do you say in French, “Busman’s holiday”?
