A new second-rate superhero: Media Man
Got up at 5:30 a.m. On the set at KHQ by 6:45 to do “Food & a Flick,” the shameless exercise in self-promotion that Leslie Kelly and I do every week for the newspaper’s Weekend section (don’t call it The Weekender!).
In 32 minutes I head to the studios of Spokane Public Radio to tape “Movies 101,” the weekly radio show that I do with Bob Glatzer and Mary Pat Treuthart (a movie fan to whom I have the pleasure of being married).
What’s next? Getting my naked face on the side of a bus? Wouldn’t that surprise the high-school teacher who once told me that I would never amount to anything while bouncing a wooden paddle off me derriere. Where are you now, Mr. Shishido?
Me, Justin Timberlake, Britney Spears, Bono, Sandra Bullock, Hugh Grant and Eminem, all smiles, in a group photo, plastered on the side of an STA bus. Yeah, I can see it.
Think Connie Chung would want to interview us?
