Life in Italia is a bit cara on the pocketbook
My wife, Gonzaga University law professor Mary Pat Treuthart , is spending most of May and June in Florence, Italy, helping to oversee the law school’s international summer law program. If you’re planning on taking a trip any time soon to Italy, here’s her advice: Bring plenty of money.
Life there, she says, is “very, very expensive!!” The dollar has shrunk against the euro, she says, “And the Italians used the change to the euro to bump up all the prices on everyday consumer goods. Che peccato!”
