Taking Mary Blew to the beach

Spokesman-Review Book Club member Jacquie Mencke is thrilled that the book choice for June is going to be Mary Clearman Blew ’s memoir “All But the Waltz.” “What a small world!” she wrote in an e-mail. “I used to be Dr. Mary Clearman Blew’s secretary at MSU-Northern in Havre, MT, and a classmate of her son’s in grade school.” Jacquie adds that Clearman “has an inscription on the Spokane downtown library on the outside of the building.” I’ll have to check the next time I walk by.
