Mr. Smith takes his revenge

OK, so there we were, in Riverfront Park’s IMAX Theatre this morning, enjoying “The Matrix Revolutions” when Mr. Smith showed up. Not in person, of course, but certainly in effect.

Right at 7:45 a.m., just at the point where Neo is about the confront the ultimate power, when the Wachowski brothers (Andy and Larry) were about to pull back the curtain and reveal the great and wonderful Oz, the sound went out.

Yes. The Sound. Went. Out. Leaving some 200 “Matrix” fans frustrated. All got free passes, of course, and Riverfront Park Events Coordinator Dale Larsen was chagrined and utterly apologetic, and he promised to fix the problem for later showings. But he needn’t have said that he was sorry. It was clear what happened.

The machines are starting to rebel.
