R-E-A-D cheers for you and cheers for me

Here’s my favorite part of my favorite cheer, as included in “Cheerleader! An American Icon” (Palgrave Macmillan, 182 pages, $24.95) by Natalie Adams and Pamela Bettis:

“U-G-L-Y
Corporate scum you cheat you lie
You UGLY — uh, uh — you ugly
G-R-E-E-D
Corporation don’t fool me
You greedy — uh, uh — you greedy
E-V-I-L
Money won’t save you from hell
You evil — uh, uh — you evil.”

I’d go on but we start to get into feces and the like. Besides, you get the point: This ain’t your parents’ kind of cheer.
