What are some good beach reads?
I’ve sent out the call: We need recommended reads for The Spokesman-Review Book Club . Reader Barb Zimmer made the following contribution: “I suggest ‘Finding Caruso’ by Kim Barnes . The novel takes place in west-central Idaho. The author, a published poet, is a real wordsmith. Her scenes and flamboyant characters are so real that you feel like you’re there. For more info, see Amazon.com’s reviews including mine from Coeur d’Alene.”
It’s a good suggestion, and I’ve included it in the loop. The reads for the next three months are now as follows: April, “Over Tumbled Graves,” Jess Walter ; May, “Perma Red,” Debra Magpie Earling ; “Finding Caruso,” Kim Barnes.
What else? Remember: The SR Book Club reads only books by Northwest writers. Send me your recommendation by e-mail
