Tarantino: an ego larger than life itself

Dan

Quentin Tarantino is owning up to what many of the rest of us have been saying all along. He should never have split “Kill Bill” into two parts. Only thing is, his regret has nothing to do with us, the viewers, and our having to pay twice for the same film – much less sit through a first half that is to violence what water is to wet. According to WENN , Tarantino is sorry that he, uh, blew Uma Thurman ’s Oscar chances.

“If I tried to turn it into a three-hour or two-and-a-half-hour movie, all the scenes that would go would be scenes I think give the movie its weight, its resonance,” WENN reported Tarantino as saying . “If I truly, truly believed the film would have had more impact shorter, I would have done it that way. I think the only thing that might have been lost in that decision is we could have gotten considerably more awards play if the film had been one big, giant epic. As one big movie, Uma would have gotten a best-actress nomination, for sure. I’m still hoping we’re going to do good at the Oscars in 2005.”

You know, I can say, “Oh, please,” in four different languages. But let’s just settle for some hand gestures .
