The gold isn’t only their tans

OK, I like to look at a woman’s body as much as anyone. As I type this I’m watching American diver Rachelle Kunkel compete in the Olympic springboard finals, and I have to admit that she looks pretty good. If you catch my drift. But, look, who decided that we should have to spend nearly an entire week watching two American woman beach volleyball players when we saw only clips of softball, soccer and basketball? In fact, who decided that beach volleyball was a sport, anyway?

And was it any coincidence that ESPN’s Sports Center announced their gold medal win by showing a shot of the couple – Misty May and Kerri Walsh – rolling around in a sandy clinch? If this were a movie, we’d be talking about an R rating.
