Another Seattle film adventure is set to begin
And so the 2005 Seattle International Film Festival , the 31st, gets under way on May 19. The box office opens for business on May 8 for the general public. Because the SIFF Web site isn’t fully up yet, I’ve included the entire press release that was sent out to the press (though I cleaned up a few of the typos and made a few style changes):
Seattle — The 31st Annual Seattle International Film Festival main box office at Pacific Place (6th and Pine, level 2), sponsored by American Airlines, opens its doors to SIFF members on Thursday May 5th and to the general public on Monday May 8th. Single tickets will also be available at the SIFF Single Ticket Outlet at the Broadway Performance Hall (1625 Broadway). Tickets are available at both box offices from 11 a.m.-7 p.m. Monday-Saturday, noon-6 p.m. Sunday and may also be charged by phone at (206) 324-9996 or via the web .
During its 25-day run, May 19-June 12, SIFF 2005 brings the best in cinema from studio produced masterpieces to the fiercely independent fare to the Neptune Theatre, Uptown Cinema, Egyptian Theatre , Harvard Exit Theatre, Broadway Performance Hall, the Northwest Film Forum, JBL Theatre at Experience Music Project (EMP), the Guild 45th and The Paramount Theatre .
Every year the Seattle International Film Festival, the largest in the U.S., garners an unparalleled combination of full-length, documentary and short films from more than 50 different countries and has been cited by the New York Times , Variety, Film Comment and USA Today as one of the top five festivals in North America. SIFF is also one of only seven in North America chosen to qualify films for consideration in the Independent Spirit Awards , the Indie film world’s equivalent of the Oscars.
Tickets to the distinguished annual opening and closing galas as well as other SIFF Special Events will be available for public purchase.
