Ah’m Your Huckleberry …

Earlier today, a local car dealer stopped along the onramp at Interstate 90 and U.S. 95 to offer $10 and a job to two beggars holding signs. In fact, he beckoned his general manager immediately to interview the men to see if they were suitable for hire. One wasn’t. The other, HBO’s been told, balked when he learned the application process included a background check. Seems the beggar had a warrant out for his arrest and wanted to be paid under the table. Also, he said he didn’t want the job, if his buddy couldn’t have one, too, and he was reluctant to leave his street corner because he makes about $300 per day begging. Remember that next time you’re tempted to help one of these scammers out.
