It’s a horse race of a movie weekend

Big weekend for Spokane moviegoing. In addition to the standard openings – “In Good Company,” “Elektra,” “Coach Carter” and “Racing Stripes” – River Park Square’s AMC 20 is opening two of the more kindly reviewed films of 2004: “The House of Flying Daggers” and “A Very Long Engagement.”

I’ve seen those last two. Liked the second one better than I expected, liked the first one less than I hoped. But both are well worth seeing, especially when the alternative is … “Racing Stripes”?
