Peanut Gallery — Goodbye, Downtown

Alas, I’m ready to write off downtown CdA as a place for locals to hang out. What used to feel like a small town now is a place to show off your new Porsche or mega-chopper while you sip $4 lattes and watch traditional retail businesses dry up and go away. Pretty soon it will all be in the shade of condo towers. Now that the Independence Point lot has NO free hour of parking, I can’t even take my lunch down there in the off season.
