* Green Libertarian brought up that accusation by The Raw Story and the Rude Pundit that conservative flamethrower Ann Coulter had plagiarized Jeff Jacoby of the Boston Globe and three other sources in writing a recent column. Dennis Joyce of the Arizona Daily Star sez she didn’t and circulated his thoughts to other editorial page editors across the US here . You can find The Raw Story’s erroneous post here .

*In Friday’s SR: “Follow on the tragic stabbing and attack of the 12-year-old girl in Idaho. The victim hadn’t seen her father for 10 years because he was in prison for raping her aunt when she was just a toddler. When he finally came to visit after his release, he told her mom he was taking her on a trip to the mall, police say, but wound up taking her into the woods and stabbing her multiple times. Unclear if she was raped or not.”

* Sam Taylor /Vandal Sense, the UI journalism major who’s interning at the Lewiston Tribune this summer dropped by for a 45-minute visit. He’ll go places in the news biz, if he can stay away from public relations. I almost made him wash his mouth out when he mentioned PR in my office.

*Commenter Frum Helen Back ( D.J. Nall ) has resigned her City Council post over some flap I can’t quite figure out. But she talks about it somewhat in the latest edition of the Hauser Thoughts here . (Here’s hoping Helen didn’t throw in the towel simply because some crank on the council was angry at her. She’s a good public official.)
