Issue: County pay raises, restructuring advised: Citizens panel proposes changes aimed at improving efficiency /Erica Curless, SR.

DFO: I’ve always thought the county government system of the Inland Northwest (Washington, Idaho and Montana) was weird. It placed too much power in the hands of three individuals, who may or may not have the expertise to run a multi-million-dollar operation. I’d prefer to see the county expand to five part-time commissioners as policy makers and a full-time administrator to handle day-to-day operations.

Question: Would you like to see county government restructured?
