Remember that cat fight at JDs bar during Bayview Daze? Well, there was another battle royal in Bayview early July 19 — this time between two men and a 1968 Harley Davidson (may it rest in peace). Seems Nathan Upchurch , 32, was fishing at the public docks around 2:30 a.m. when a rival approached, accused him of damaging his rig and challenged him to a fight. Upchurch told the other man to come back the next day and went in search of authorities. So, the suspect took his frustrations out on Upchurch’s motorcycle, pushing it over, kicking it and using a knife to cut the rubber drive belt off. Then, he ignited the damaged fuel tank and dragged the burning motorcycle through town three times — and 1 1/2 miles overall — before exiting on Perimeter Road. Damage estimate: $10,000. Wonder what they do for fun in Bayview?
