Peanut Gallery — Midtown

I am reading with great interest of the foresight and support that midtown received in the past. My question is, “Does the current City Administration get very involved in midtown issues?” From the outside looking in, I always “hear” that it is the red-headed step child to Sherman and Lakeside in the current City Council’s eyes. Thoughts, comments??

DFO: Midtown is the last, best hope for The Powers That Be to provide housing for middle-incomers within shouting distance of the downtown. Done right, Midtown could become a quaint neighborhood of small shops, NIC instructors and college students. I hear, however, that there’s strong opposition to changing the area much because residents/biz owners are afraid that higher valuations will drive them out. However, I believe, progress has its cross-hairs on Midtown. And there’s nothing that’ll stop it. The key is guiding it.
