Answer: not a damn thing
Friday was another four-by, which included: “November,” a strange little Kubler-Ross-type mystery starring Courteney Cox ; “Le Grand Voyage,” a road trip by a young Moroccan Arab and his father, which actually is a pilgrimage to Mecca that is about as opposite of a happy Hollywood adventure as you can imagine; “Roma,” an Argentine story of a novelist looking back at his youth; and “Pretty Persuasion,” a disappointing dark comedy that, in the end, can’t avoid trying for a serious message. Please.
Today I’m going for five: “The Deep Blue, ” which starts in about 29 minutes, and then four others back to back. I have some Noah’s Bagels eggs in my stomach, a good cup of coffee in my hand (which I got at the Aurafice, where I’m typing this) and something to read in between (George Lakoff’s “Don’t Think of an Elephant” ). What else do I need?
