Peanut Gallery — Heightening Actors
re: previous comment about 4-11” Patty Duke
When “All the President’s Men” with Robert Redford was being filmed in Washington, DC, our office’s secretaries wanted to go out and try to get a glimpse of Redford when the fake phone booth scene at 17th and F Streets was shot. One of the women came back to the office looking very forlorn, so I asked if she had not seen him. Her answer was, “Yeah, I saw him. And he’s as short as you are.”
Another “shorty” is Chuck Norris.
One of the tricks set designers and builders use to make men look taller is to scale down the size of the set so the actor looks disproportionately large. That’s why our home was built by Mattel, not Greenstone.
