The Senate Armed Services Committee chairman yesterday accused Sen. Richard J. Durbin of insulting American soldiers with a “grievous error in judgment” by comparing U.S. treatment of al Qaeda suspects to the crimes of Adolf Hitler, Josef Stalin and Pol Pot, and demanded that the Senate’s No. 2 Democrat apologize, according to the Washington Times, here .

Feedback: Durbin’s comments. I think he went over the line. While I disagree with the right-wing premise that this is an insult to all American forces, Durbin needs to apologize; not for hammering on the treatment of the prisoners, but for his hyperbolic statement — Ryan Hill.
