Make Mike ride to the rescue

Dan

Just got a phone call from Spokane reader Liz Cox, who had a good question to ask: “Is there any way that we’re going to get to see ‘The Smartest Guys in the Room’ here in Spokane?” Easy answer there: Probably not.

The movie had its American debut in January at the Sundance Film Festival , and it had a limited release on April 22. It’s now nearly July, here are the cities in which the films has played/is playing: Los Angeles, New York, Austin, Palo Alto (Calif.), Memphis, Kansas City, Denver, Boston, Minneapolis, San Francisco, Rochester (N.Y.), Chicago, Miami, Orlando, Atlanta, Asheville (N.C.), St. Paul (Minn.), Denton (Texas) , Worcester (Mass.), Houston, Detroit, San Diego, Phoenix, Little Rock (Ark.), San Jose, Salt Lake, Washington D.C., San Antonio, Halifax (Novia Scotia) , Contra Costa (Calif), Toronto, Philadelphia, Dalllas and Fort Worth – plus, of course, Seattle and Portland.

Experience indicates that there’s a specific window of time in which a film can open anywhere, much less come to Spokane. And chances are that window for “The Smartest Guys in the Room” has passed. Our best chance now is to get Michael Smith, manager of The Met on the case.
