Inside Huckleberries (3/4/05)

6:07 p.m. Time to bring an interesting week of blogging to a close. Still a little under the weather from the crud. But I see the light at the end of the tunnel. See ya folks back here next week. And a big thanks to Bob, Marianne, CDADave, Kristin, Phil & Co. for another terrific week breaking ground with me in the blogosphere.

5:23 p.m. The pacifistic Canadians seem to have gotten religion since the brutal murder of four junior Mounties at a pot-growing operation. You can find leading Canadian blogger Colby Cosh’s thoughts on the matter here .
(Sweet P’s to colleague James Hagengruber for passing this along.)

4:13 p.m. Jeffrey Sheets doesn’t have a name for his new blog, but he wants folks to know he isn’t thrilled with all the big plans for the CDA waterfront. Jeffrey explains why the big plans by developers are going to have a disastrous effect on the little guy here .

1 p.m. Cis The Retired passes along an excellent newsletter from the Salisbury University (Md) campus police that offers a wide range of tips how wives and coed daughters can avoid rape here .

11:30 a.m. “Check out the poll on KTVB.com about Noble here . 80% of the early responders think he got off easy. He’s gonna have a WEE bit o’trouble at election time, if he even bothers to run again. But stranger things have happened” — Mike Kennedy . (67% of 220 want him expelled now.)

9 a.m. Brent Andrews , a former reporter for Brand X, e-mails to say he’s about to self-publish a book, “The Pot Plan” that’ll be out later this month. Quoth: “It’s good, very good. It’s non-fiction, journalism at its finest (if you ask me), and I hope you’ll read it and mention it in your column.” Why not?
