* WCC: It’s a slam dunk! Morrison’s career-high 30 leads Zags to yet another WCC championship / Steve Bergum , SR — And this was suppose to be the year that the rest of the WCC caught up to Gonzaga. Well, it did catch up some. But it has a way to go before reeling in our Zags. Congrats Mark Few & Co.
* Commissioners want out of beach lawsuit: County prosecutor plans to stay in case anyway / Erica Curless , SR — You go, Bill. Unlike the county commissioners, you realize that Sanders Beach and Coeur d’Alene are part of the county.
* GU finally lands WCC tourney: New rotation system brings tourney north, and into McCarthy in 2006 / John Blanchette , SR — It’s enjoyable whipping the St. Marys, Santa Claras and San Franciscos in their places each March. But it’ll be more fun whipping them at season’s end at our place.
* Rancher first to shoot wolf under new federal rules: Guidelines allow killing predators that pose a threat to livestock / John Miller , SR — Finally, a wolf law that makes sense. And it only took us — what? — 10 years to figure out that wolves will eat livestock if we disarm the ranchers.
* Bill calls for checks of voter records: GOP adds amendments to election-reform measures / Rachel La Corte , AP — The horse is out of the barn as far as Dino Rossi is concerned. But it probably makes Olympia solons feel better about themselves by passing these elections bills.
