4:31 p.m. Did that letter to the Coeur d’Alene Press editor from Shirley Thagard of Hayden really say that the late anti-property tax activist Ron Rankin was a (drum roll, please) — Democrat?! At times, he was an Independent. But he finished his life as a former Republican commissioner. And the Press editor holds us bloggers in contempt for errors.

9:42 a.m. Comment volume has increased so much with the new feature that I no longer can respond to everyone. So, I’ll continue to monitor them for blogroaches and blogopatmuses, and postscript as the mood moves me. Sorry. The success of this blog has its drawbacks. But not many.
