Peanut Gallery (Airport screeners)
I have been in and out of airports in the United States for the past couple of months and I have discovered a very interesting fact about the security screening.
The people at the head of the line before you get your bags screened, the people who are in charge of checking to see if the picture and identification match the boarding pass, the people who are the only line of defense as to who gets on that plane are hired outside security people, not government employed TSA agents. They are rent a cops like the old days that, I am told are minimum wagers, with very little training.
What is up with that? Everyone assumes that the government is handling that process but the most important people at the head of the line have not changed from the way it used to be before 9/11.
