Turkey Wins Traditional Pardon
Some may view this posting as a gratuitous attempt to lure nicotine-deprived Bearable Bob into a flame war on a lazy Tuesday afternoon. After all, you have all the elements: President Bush, a big turkey, and a big turkey handler. However, I plead the Fifth. Marshmellow, the national Thanksgiving turkey, was pardoned in the Old Executive Office Building earlier today and will become the co-marshal for the Disneyland Thanksgiving Parade. The presidential tradition of pardoning a turkey dates back over 50 years to Harry Truman.
