Trick or Treat

The news meeting played second ring to the annual newsroom trick-or-treating ritual, where employees’ children go desk to desk gathering candy (at least, whatever’s still left by 4 p.m.). In the midst of our collective sugar rush, however, we were able to hammer out a plan for tomorrow’s paper.

Not surprisingly, the nomination of Samuel Alito will lead the page, particularly the Senate confirmation battle that is sure to ensue. Locally, we’ve got a story on a plan to save Lake Pend O’Reille’s kokanee salmon.
