Under most circumstances, Bob Denver’s obituary would potentially be front page news (arguments about the relative quality of “Gilligan’s Island” aside, a cultural icon is a cultural icon). However, with hurricane updates and a packed local lineup, there just isn’t space (another consideration - Denver died on Friday, so it’s kind of an old story even though the announcement just came out today).
