Mailbag: We Want Property Tax Relief Now
Claude D. Waalz : I hate to interupt the Democrat Underground screaming points, but the issue of North Idaho property taxes is WAAAY more important to me. There are retired mine, mill and Kaiser workers being taxed out of their houses and the Boise Buttheads ignore the problem. The North Idaho delegation isn’t cutting it. They need to just say ‘we’re shutting this s.o.b. down by filibuster because the folks back home are P.O.’d and they’re going to fire us unless we get them relief!”
DFO: Dunno if I agree with your assessment of the North Idaho delegation. The only reason the big property tax relief bill got out of that Senate committee was that our senators insisted on a floor vote. It’s noteworthy that the vote failed because all seven Democrats voted against it. They feared the schools would be hurt. I like your idea of a filibuster, however, until the senators do the right thing.
