Huckleberries: Beach brew tastes great, less thrilling
Rumorama: Huckleberries hears … that Capone’s, the toast of Midtown, offers a drink with a local flavor: Sanders Beach. Blogger BrodH2O describes a Sanders Beach as “Nice, fruity drink. A little bit of vodka, gin and juice. A little less drama than the real thing.” Capone’s should sprinkle sand around the rim and serve it in a fragile glass with “no trespassing” decals on the side.
… That a sampler tray’s worth of worker bees at CdA’s Olive Garden is pregnant. Mebbe nine of ‘em. Another one just had a baby. And the wife of still another one is expecting. Quips a well-placed Berry Picker: “There must be something in the Alfredo sauce.”
… That a coupla Coeur d’Alene Summer Theatre actors brought down the house at Club Pendulum (Second & Indiana) on July 30 with a drag queen show for the ages, starring as “Ms. Vera” and “Black Diamond.” In a review (which you can find on Huckleberries Online this morning), edgy CdA blogger Making Flippy Floppy sez: “When these boys decide to retire from Summer Theatre, they need to take their drag cabaret on the road: they’ll surely be famous!”
… That Gozzer Ranch Hands Behaving Badly are at it again. This time, a GRHBB in a large rig with a GOZZER8 vanity plate was annoyed by road work and ignored a flagger as he attempted to turn from Hanley onto blocked Atlas (about elevenish on Aug 1). When the flagger prevented him from doing so, he angrily backed over a coupla road cones and got back into line. Big boys have big feelings. Be careful out there.
