DFO: You should have expanded your commment. Successful blogs scare the bejabbers out of “old school columnists” — period. You’ve seen that during the last week here when the SR INLife posse was riding down on this Huckleberry Hound. I got popped online once by the lynch mob immediately after I posted my “oh!-my!-fensive” question re: the WSU rape survey. But the first one who slimed me in the print edition had to wait until the following Sunday for her once-a-week column . And we’re still waiting for the first predictable DFO-bashing letter to the editor in response to that column. By then, we’d talked the subject to death here and had moved on to many other subjects du jour. I don’t know how many newspaper columnists, either political stripe, could survive in the blogosphere, which has a wild West feel to it, a place where you’re held accountable for every word. Pronto.
