Oscar is a real joker, that guy

It’s been a few days since I’ve blogged anything. But, hey, you try to hold things together in a week when your only daughter gets married.

Anyway, it seems that Josh Staub ’s roll continues. The Spokane filmmaker, whose animated short “The Mantis Parable” played twice to appreciative audiences at the recent Spokane International Film Festival, just saw his film garner the Best Animation Award at the recent Santa Barbara International Film Festival .

That makes 11 awards that the film has won since its premiere at the Seattle International Film Festival in May. That bit of news comes from a press release that Staub sent out, a notice that included the news that he is now represented by the management firm The Gotham Group .

I say sic Batman on the Motion Picture Academy , which declined to offer Staub an Oscar nomination.
