MySpace, bloody gauze and a feel-good sports story

Ken Sands

Ironically, if you want the full impact of today’s “7” story about the online social network “MySpace,” you’ll need to pick up a copy of the print edition. Our designers did a wonderful mockup of an actual MySpace profile page, but it doesn’t translate well from print to online.

However, Spokane7.com does have its very own MySpace account. See it here. Become one of our friends.

Nose for news

Adam Morrison’s bloody gauze apparently won’t be sold on eBay after all — at least not for awhile. But this is not the end of the story. Stay tuned…

Feel-good sports story of the year?

OK, so the year isn’t very old yet, but is anyone really inspired by the Winter Olympics? Today’s story about an autistic New York high school student was astounding and inspiring. The kid is the manager of the high school varsity team, and at 5-foot-6 won’t be mistaken for Kobe Bryant anytime soon. But he did suit up for the team’s last home game of the season and to the shock and amazement of everyone in attendance, poured in 20 points in four minutes, making six of 10 three-point shots!

Blind dog, three-legged cat, Wal-Mart and multimillion-dollar homes

Sounds like a wacky, Slice-like description of the Inland Northwest, but it’s a lineup of stories considered for tomorrow’s front page:

• A blind dog is headed to a Montana ranch that specializes in giving disabled pets a comfortable “retirement.”

• A three-legged cat needs to be adopted. (Yes, it does have two eyes.)

• The Wal-Mart proposed for Hayden looks back on track after two years of delays to study traffic problems.

• Of the 10 most expensive residential properties in Spokane County, five are near Liberty Lake, two are near the Valley and only one is in Spokane. Thanks to the vibrant real estate market, local governments are taking in record amounts of real estate taxes.
