Mea culpas and explanations

Yesterday, we debated how and where to provide an explanation of the past day’s coverage of the West Virginia mining disaster. The end result was a blurb next to the front-page story and a longer piece on an inside page.

At today’s meeting, everyone seemed to agree that the story was well done, and (appropriately) not as self-critical as many other publications’ coverage.

Keep an eye on the front page of the site today. We’ll have updates on the apparently worsening condition of the sole surviving minor.
