Late addition
Here’s an issue that came up this morning but got lost in my notes:
Another double-standard?
Carla Savalli was somewhat put off by some language in this morning’s profile of police chief finalist Anne Kirkpatrick. Specifically, a colleague’s description of Kirkpatrick as “tough, but with a lot of charm.”
“You would never say that about a man,” Savalli said. Personality is often cited when describing women in power, she said, but never when people are talking about men in power.
Thoughts?
