HBO Poll: Which Sales Tax Hike Is Best?

I just finished an editorial for Monday about the three proposals floating around out there to hike the sales tax. I don’t think state and local voters will support all three. So, tell me which you one/ones you would support — and why:

1. An increase of a half cent to a whole cent to provide $200 million in property tax relief by shifting school M&0 costs to the sales tax.

2. A local-option tax of half a cent to expand the jail and provide an equal amount in property tax relief.

3. An increase of a penny under the Proposition One proposal to provide $200M more per year in education funding.
