Meet the finalists

There was an extra blurb that didn’t make it into publication, a brief from political reporter Jim Camden about a police department function.

Two police chief candidates’ middle names also got mixed up under “Meet the Finalists” on page A9 of the metro edition. The correct names are Anne E. Kirkpatrick and Linda Eschenfelder Pierce.

The missing brief will be posted as soon as possible.

Business editor Addy Hatch would have liked to know the exact percentage of people successful in appealing their property assessments in the Idaho story here .

On another note, there was an item in the Home section about Message Beans, beans with laser-printed text… text that is supposed to show on the bean itself after the plant has sprouted.( here ) Business editor Addy Hatch said she tried it but the text didn’t show.

“It was a gift,” she said.

On the seasonal slowdown of real news influx, editor Steve Smith said “We’re really feeling the dog days.”
