GreenL: What Happened w/Blackwell Island?

Green Libertarian: So what happened at the meeting?

DFO: Neither The Duane or Barlow showed up to argue the case and John Stone offered to pay the annexation fee and provide a boat slip so the project could go forward. Looks like The Duane is sulking about the city’s move to demand more from the usual annexation agreement than it usually does — for the good of the public. The Duane begrudges every square inch of sand or bike path when it comes to the public. But he doesn’t mind asking to close several downtown city blocks to plant his geraniums. On the other hand, he might be having trouble getting permits from the Army Corps of Engineers to dredge the toxic guck at the bottom of the channel. And his fight with the city is but a coverup.
