Black Rock — Si, Chateau — No … No Horseshoes

Colleague Erica Curless has just returned from the county commissioner’s announcement today re: two ritzy developments proposed on Lake Coeur d’Alene. County commissioners OK’d the Black Rock North subdivision on a 2-0 vote, with Commish Rick Currie declaring a conflict of interest (didn’t explain) and not voting. Commissioners voted 3-0 against the Chateau de Loire’ PUD proposal. Also, Commish Gus Johnson made a statement about receiving a box of horseshoes from developer Bill Radobenko after last Thursday’s Black Rock hearing … and got mad when audience members laughed at his statement: “I can’t be bought off by a box of horseshoes.” BTW, Johnson didn’t bring the box to the meeting as he had mentioned he might do.
