Sam just couldn’t quit his Mr. Frodo

Seems the producers of “Brokeback Mountain” can’t wait for the film’s theatrical run to end before they have to fill the video store shelves full of DVDs . That may seem strange, but it’s likely to become more and more common.

In fact, the time may not be far off when you’ll be able to watch a movie and then walk out into the lobby and buy a DVD of the film you’ve just seen – kind of like what you can do now at music concerts.

Back to “Brokeback,” the DVD extras apparently include interviews with Ang Lee, Diana Ossana and Larry McMurtry , Heath Ledger and Jake Gyllenhaal.

But do you want to have some fun? While I’m still satisfying my YouTube jones, I thought it might be nice to watch some satirical takes on the “Brokeback” saga. As in the instance below, the film shorts are combos of genres.

First up: This melding is between “Brokeback Mountain” and that little Peter Jackson film about Hobbits.
