Extra! Suspected LL Embezzler Turns Self In
A man suspected of embezzling more than $30,000
from the Post Falls Little League has turned himself in after more than a month on the lam. James A. Harris, 37, (pictured) showed up at the Post Falls Police Department just before 11 a.m. Sunday with both of his parents, Police Lt. Greg McLean said Monday. Harris, the organization’s former treasurer, is being held on a $250,000 warrant for charges of grand theft. McLean said Harris wouldn’t talk with investigators about the missing money or say where he has been for the past month. “On the advice of his attorney, he’s not to talk to us,” McLean said. Harris didn’t say who his attorney was, McLean added. Little League officials are still trying to determine how much money Harris allegedly stole from the organization, McLean said. Harris is scheduled to appear in 1st District Court in Kootenai County this afternoon/Taryn Brodwater, Spokesman-Review.
