How to help

Whether to get involved in connecting people in need with those who want to help them out is always a bit of a dilemma for journalists, but in the case of today’s story on a soldier’s family whose trailer was stolen , editors decided last night to include reporter Amy Cannata’s contact info at the bottom of the story so she could forward those inquiries as appropriate. Unfortunately, that wasn’t communicated to the night crew, who trimmed that contact info from the story.
