The Morgan Quinto Press has released its ratings of the smartest states here . Before you look, try to rank the five NW states, according to where the fall on the rating. (BTW, for those keeping score at home, the top-ranked state in the nation is Vermont.)

So, how would you rank in order of smartest?

Idaho
Montana
Oregon
Washington
Wyoming

Answer: No. 7 — Montana, 19 — Wyoming, 20 — Idaho, 33 — Washington, and 40 — Oregon. (Also: 27 — Colorado, 38 — Utah, and 46 — Alaska)
