Wondering: No Sympathy for Driving Thugs

Wondering: What can one say…and praying for Issac everyday will bring him back? Oh well, it looks good in print and in court. Clearly, I have no compassion for these 2 over privileged thugs. My compassion belongs to Isacs mother whose life will never again be the same. If the Cutting “thugs” father is a doctor, then he will probably have a high priced lawyer. He will hang his head in remorse and get some kind of community service. Boy that will teach him a lesson! Let us hope that, in this case, justice truly will be blind (to the slick lawyer) and these boys will get the sentence they so richly deserve.

DFO: I’ve thought quite a bit about this accident and the drivers who caused it. But for fortune, that coulda been me, as a kid. I remember racing my old ‘57 Ford back from a high school football game on a back road at 100 mph. I raced my 1968 convertible Camaro once or twice on city streets in college. In college, B.C., I also drove while intoxicated a time or two. Or three. I doubt that the racing drivers are monsters. They’re kids who committed a senseless crime as a result of an impulsive moment triggered probably by one of them revving their engine. Whatever happens in the judicial system, they’ll remember the accident with regret the rest of their lives. They’ll also be remembered for it. I mourn for the family of the victim. But I also feel sorry for the other families involved. They’re good people. And good members of this community.
