Don’t fear the drill

We had a short critique this morning with Managing Editor Gary Graham taking the lead.
Graham mentioned that today’s Our Kids story, Breaking the cycle , was sad. “It felt like Malcolm never really had a chance,” Graham said.

There were several kudos at the table for Heather Lalley’s Rooting out our dental fears .

Deputy City Editor Dan Hansen wondered why it took so long to call the shooting in Moscow a homicide when the victim was shot twice in the head and the weapon had been hidden.

Assistant Voice Editor Jeff Jordan pointed out that we could have done something with the three-car accident that closed Sullivan Road in the Valley for several hours last night.

Looking ahead:
We are keeping an eye on the Idaho Supreme Court and we are working on a a story about Native American children raised in foster care.
