TGIF: Catching up at week’s end

A story which began on Thursday and carried over into Friday’s news cycle was the bridge tragedy story out of Minnesota.

There was discussion at the table on Thursday morning regarding whether it should have been the centerpiece story (middle of the page) versus the lead story (top of the page). A local low-income housing story was instead the centepiece. It was decided that was a good call.

Then, on Friday, the story was localized by reporter Shawn Vestal. He looked at the state of area bridges in eastern Washington and north Idaho. There will be more to come on that subject in the coming weeks.
