Efforts to open ValleyHUB proceeding
A collaboration of about 30 churches in Spokane Valley and Liberty Lake is working toward purchasing the former Sports USA court complex.
The Liberty Lake facility has basketball courts that can be converted for volleyball and other uses.
The newly formed nonprofit has until October 26 to raise $3.9 million to buy the building and an additional $1.1 million for startup costs, according to a newsletter sent to members of the Valley Ministerial Association.
The group also wants to raise money to help with operations and development of an additional 3.5 acres as a ball field, children’s play area, and additional parking, the newsletter said.
