Spokane seeing record construction

Spokane’s Building Services Department has issued a record number of permits year-to-date, according to Joe Wizner, director of building services.

Wizner wrote an update on construction for the city’s economic development newsletter.

The department issued the 10,000th permit during July and is on track to exceed last year’s record total of 16,709 permits, he wrote. Total construction valuation for building permits issued in July was $27 million with year-to-date valuations totaling $176 million.
