Hump Day Wild Card — 8/22/07

I’m back and I’m fairly rested after setting up Amy Dearest for her senior year at college in Portland. We all know how fast time goes. But it truly seems like yesterday when we were dropping her off for her first year of college, wondering if she’d make it away from home. That was three years and one semester in Rome ago. The answer is overwhelmingly yes. She’ll be fine. However, I’m not so sure that I’ll be fine as an official empty nester. Some parents relish this time of their lives. But I’m not looking forward to it. It’ll probably hit me this weekend when I cart her bed and sundry other stuff off to goodwill as we transform her room into a work room for my wife. You’ll probably have to put up with my moping for awhile. Now, for your Wild Card …
