Kootenai County Commissioner Rick Currie and former commissioner Dick Panabaker burn the mortgage papers for the county’s Administration Building Thursday morning in Coeur d’Alene. The building cost $3.5 million and was paid off a little early because of a drop in interest rates a few years ago. (BTW, Commish Rich Piazza told me this afternoon that city firefighters were on standby and a barrel was required to contain the blaze — as a result of the burn ban.)
